Hours between thoughts

What kind of dialogue is this?

I’ve misplaced the texture of your voice

I yearn for your breaths between words

I want for your silence

Not in the form of space between text

Please, don’t waste your sounds

They are precious

They are perfect

In tune with the rise of your smile and the fall of your

Frowns

I don’t get enough time to

Match your body to your speech

I don’t get enough time to ever say

What I want to say

In the velvet way I want to say it

If you ever get me alone

If by chance on the phone

If you ever get swept away by the winds of my vocals

If my eyes + my wits ever met your gaze

You could exercise my vocal chords all night

I just don’t use them enough

Will one of us run down the crowded room of

Emoticons and text lingo

To break the screen that entrances us

The Berlin wall of opaque fonts

I never know what it means

When you type

I want to see it in your form

Your discomfort

Your knees slanted in my direction

Your immediate, yet timid hand on the small of my back

Round midnight

I want pants between each ellipsis as our conversation

Slows

Husky dim lit sounds between breaths
